..... that one day that we explored it on our first trip into the sea this year some weeks ago. There is so much life on the sea in summers and I always sighed and hmmm’ed and huh’ed watching all the boats sail past into those wonderful blue waters and used to wonder if I can be there one day. Thanks to Sekhar or must I say Håkon who invited Sekhar to co-own the boat. When Sekhar came home and asked us – there is this offer and should I buy – I JUMPED like a kid on the trampoline and said YESS YESS !!!! as this was the most ideal situation for us as a first step rather than go about it on our own – which I think we would have never done :-). And now - PINCH ME, I have my name on the boat called AneliShanthi (named after the wives of the boat owners :-)
Håkon and Eli were already there at the boat parking getting the boat ready when I and S reached there. We are still novices and they know it very well and so they play a bigger role in getting things under control for the trips. The flag was up and we left the shore behind us.
I had to click this back of Håkon
Isn't this exotic - the first glimpse of the Island we are going to anchor at. Just us and no one else.
Hytta’s (summer cottages) on the way. Norwegians love their Hytta’s and usually in summer they spend most of their time in the cottage or the boat. The Vikings that they are.
When we came to the shore – Eli is the handy man (or shall I say woman) as we are of not much help. Håkon said JUMP and Eli quipped – sure I would if I am an antelope :-).
Parked the boat safely and securely and Håkon tried to teach us the nautical knots so that while we are exploring the island – the boat doesn’t drift away.
We then made our way through the rocks and relaxing birdies to find a good place to spend the rest of the evening. We grilled , gulped up the yummy strawberry cream cake made by Eli , watched few boats pass by, the men obviously had fun with our chitter chatter and it was soon time to get back.
We left this beautiful lonely island the same way we discovered it and headed back with memories to cherish and ofcourse the clicks and a story for homeShanthihome :-).
