Bags and bags.....

I had great fun organizing all my bags and the relief I felt at the thought that I need not run up and down searching for that particular one I need in that last minute.....
These 2 to the left below are my first party bags I bought in Fatehpur Sikri some 25 odd years ago. love pouches of all sizes and shapes
This birdie is a class of its own. Followed a saree that I bought from Sabyasachi

This bag below to the right bought in Vietnam can be passed off as made in either kutch or in the north east
Isn't this looking cute. Hmmm.. now I have to find a place to tuck it away :-). Would love to hear how you organize your stuff. Have a nice weekend!!

  3. Hi shanti- regular lurker, first time commenting here. Where did you get sabyasachi sarees from? Is there a showroom in hyd? I so want to buy some but I only get a chance to visit Hyd and chennai when I go to India.

Beautiful bags and great organizing skills :-)

    1. You can find Sabyasachi sarees in Elahe in Hyderabad but nothing like looking at them at Carma in Delhi or Sabyasachi's own store at Kalaghoda and also at Aza in Mumbai. I am sure there must be some gorgeous ones in Calcutta too. If you are in the US - you can look at www.piakaghar.com online.

  9. Wow! what a collection.
Even I used to have the the bags made in UP, but, I have lost them. They are really very beautiful. I wanted to get one during my trip to UP some 6years ago, but at that time they had no stock and I had to be satisfied with a belt made in the same way. It is very pretty, but I am too fat to wear that belt, although it fits me.
I think I should visit the UP showroom here in Bangalore and buy the handbag.
Wonderful display of bags, though I just can't change bags so easily, for I am quite lazy at that.

  10. Very colorful. :-) I like the stand idea, can be used for so many other things that one would need to find in a jiffy. I am a backpack person myself (easier to carry and of course I have to also admit I'm too lazy to change). Nice collection. Way to go!

  14. At first, I thought this was a showroom for bags until I remembered your project!
Shanthi....you do have quite a number and what a fantastic collection! Totally Jealous of all those potli bags that you have.

I just stow the 10 that I have on a shelf. If they come with their cloth covers, I do put them in it with newspapers stuffed so that they don't lose their shape.

I keep in my cupboard so I can see.. and use regularly.. but I only have one bag for each colour for work.. and a mini collection of totes and fancier stuff.. A much small collection than yours. :-)
